Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro says Disney is not interested in Smaller Regional Park Expansion

D’Amaro noted Disney is not planning for regional park expansion at this time during remarks made at the Technology, Media, & Communications Conference

When Universal announced the addition of a new park in Frisco, Texas, many Disney fans began to speculate if a smaller, regional version of the Disney experience would be coming to their hometown. Unfortunately for those living outside of Disneyland and Walt Disney World areas, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro has ruled out this type of expansion.

DAmaro-1 — Universal Parks & Resorts Plans to Bring New Concept for Families with Young Children to Frisco.

During remarks made at the J.P. Morgan 51st Annual Technology, Media & Communications Conference currently being held in Boston, D’Amaro stated Disney is not interested in regional park expansion at this time, but is rather focussing on further development of the Disney parks already in existence.

While these remarks do not forever rule out the creation of another Disney park in the United States completely, it does rule out any thoughts of this type of expansion happening anytime in the near future.
