Daisy Ridley Discusses Her Emotional Last Day On Set for Star Wars: Episode IX

Daisy Ridley Discusses Her Emotional Last Day On Set for Star Wars: Episode IX. She opens up about how she cried through her final scenes and compared leaving set to feeling like she was in a music video.

Ridley opened up during an interview with CouchSurfing on PeopleTV about her final days of filming for Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

“I just can’t remember it,” she first admitted. “I remember [director] J.J. [Abrams] making a speech and I sort of remember a couple things he said, like I’m always on time, which I appreciate him saying. And then he went to pass me the mic and I was the last person to wrap. It was my final shot and I’m just crying in the shot… It was incredibly dramatic.”

“Literally can’t remember what I said,” Ridley recalls of that moment when she hugged her costars John Boyega and Oscar Issac. “Hugged a number of people and then got in the car and looked out the window like I was in a music video: tears rolling down my face, hand to the window, thinking about days gone past.”

Daisy Ridley predicts fans will be “very satisfied” with the conclusion to the Skywalker Saga. “Everything we were doing felt like, in the moment, really good,” she stated during the interview.

Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker will be the final installment in what is being referred to as the “Skywalker Saga” of Star Wars, aka Episodes I-IX. The Rise of Skywalker will conclude the over 40 years of storytelling that began with Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo, and is ending with the shared stories of Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, and Kylo Ren/Ben Solo.

Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker premieres in theaters December 20, 2019.
