Billy Webb, a 33-year-old dad from New Jersey brought his son Will to Walt Disney World for the first time to grant his wife Kellie’s dying wish.
Kellie Webb, 33, first met her husband of nine years while stationed in Fort Bragg, NC for the U.S. Army. She served as a combat medic in the Army and completed a 16-month tour in Iraq in 2007. She was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2012 and medically retired from the Army when her cancer became unmanageable in October of 2014.
Kellie’s cancer was deemed terminal at the beginning of the summer. At that time Kellie was asked by her father-in-law what she would like to do before it was too late and that is when she said she wanted to take her son to see Mickey Mouse in Orlando. Kellie went into hospice on Thursday from a reaction to her latest round of chemotherapy, she passed away on Saturday, ending her four-year battle. Billy said about 200 people turned out for Kellie’s funeral.
A “Kellie’s Final Wish” gofundme account was create on September 22nd and within the first hour the $10,000.00 goal was met. By Friday afternoon almost $35,000.00 was reported in the account.
Although Billy says it means the world to him to be able to bring his son to Walt Disney World, him and his son both really wish Kellie could have joined them. Billy says he thought there was plenty of time left for them to share this vacation.
Billy said Will wants to do it all and that is just what they plan to do!
