Some lucky D23 members will enjoy special extras on May 1st at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A planned event for D23 gold members and gold family members is taking place throughout the day. The “D23 30th-anniversary FAN Celebration Pass” is a member exclusive pass that provides holders an additional way to enjoy the 30th-anniversary celebration. While the pass is now sold out, those who were able to purchase the pass will enjoy some great benefits.
The lucky members who were able to purchase a ticket will be looking forward to a variety of perks. Pass holders will enjoy reserved viewing to both the 3oth anniversary celebration moment and at the debut of the nighttime show at the Chinese Theater, Wonderful World of Animation. The will also receive three FastPass+ to use for attractions and priority access to check out the brand new attraction, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. Finally, those attending will receive an exclusive gift to commemorate the celebration.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has undergone quite a few changes since its opening in 1989 when it opened as Disney-MGM Studios. The original park was not only a theme park but also a working studio. Eventually, the studio portion closed, and when the partnership with Metro Goldwyn Mayer ended the park was renamed to what it is known as today. While filming at the park is rare these days and generally limited to special events the park still celebrates Hollywood, music, movies, and television.
D23 is the Official Disney Fan Club. The club celebrates all things Disney and hosts various events throughout the year for members in addition to other perks members receive. D23 is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2019.
