Cute Baby Otters Born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Exciting news! Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World is now home to a new litter of playful baby otters.

Dr. Mark Penning, VP of Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment, delighted fans with photos of adorable Asian small-clawed otter pups and their mother on Instagram and Facebook. These are the smallest otter species, and it appears there are at least three in the litter.

The litter was born to mom Mae, who is diligently caring for her pups backstage under the watchful eye of the dedicated animal care team. Dad Kevin is also actively involved in raising their offspring. Dr. Penning shared that over the next few months, these adorable pups will reach exciting milestones, such as opening their eyes, exploring solid foods, and learning the art of swimming. Soon, guests will have the opportunity to witness these playful otters in person on Discovery Island.
