Could Another Tim Burton and Johnny Depp Movie Revive Their Careers? For two decades the names Johnny Depp and Tim Burton were practically synonymous with one another when discussing film projects either in the works or nearing a premiere. From Edward Scissorhands to Alice Through the Looking Glass the pair were a dynamic duo and an almost guaranteed success at the box office. It’s been nearly 5 years since the two have worked on a film project together, but could another collaboration be the key to reviving both of their careers?

Currently, Tim Burton is producing the sequel to Beetlejuice with writers Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg and will be producing an The Addams Family live-action series. Currently, the film does not have any casting choices confirmed, but many believe if Depp were to be cast and signed onto one of the Burton projects it could mean another box office hit for the pair and help to revitalize their careers.

Depp has been under tight scrutiny from the industry after his loss of a libel case in the UK against The Sun newspaper who labeled Depp as a “wife beater” in several publications after allegations of abuse by his ex-wife Amber Heard. Currently, Johnny is working on filing an appeal for the case, but it didn’t take long for Warner Bros. to ask Depp to step away from his role as Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Depp has shared concern in the past about what would happen to him should he be out of work or blacklisted in Hollywood, but his lifelong friend Tim Burton seems to be a potential key to future success in the industry. Burton himself has been deemed rather lackluster himself since his departure from more iconic films and was ridiculed after the release of Disney’s live-action Dumbo with many moviegoers feeling he had lost his mojo.

Do you think another Tim Burton and Johnny Depp film would be helpful to the filmmakers? Or do you feel their time in the industry is running out? What sorts of projects would you like to see the pair create together? We would love to hear your ideas in the comments.
