Construction Activity Picks Up Across Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios
If you’ve recently touched down on Batuu, you may notice things look a little… under construction. Multiple areas across Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are currently seeing work, with both the Resistance and the smuggling crowd dealing with a bit of downtime as refurbishment projects quietly move forward.

One of the biggest visual changes is over near Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, where scaffolding has been set up around the iconic ship. The structure wraps around sections of the Falcon, including elevated platforms that suggest crews are working on upper portions of the exterior. While the area remains open and the Falcon is still visible, it definitely looks like Han Solo’s prized ride is in for a little tune-up.
Meanwhile, over by Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the Resistance A-Wing has been completely surrounded by construction walls. These barriers are notably plain and un-themed, which usually points to a shorter refurbishment timeline rather than a major overhaul. The ship is still partially visible from certain angles, but no active work has been spotted just yet.

Beyond these two headline updates, construction and improvements are happening throughout Batuu. In Batuu East, new signage has been added at the former Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser entrance, and a nearby seating area recently received fans to help guests stay cool. Work is also continuing near Savi’s Workshop, adding to the sense that this is a land-wide refresh rather than isolated projects.

Taken together, it feels like Disney is giving Black Spire Outpost a bit of routine maintenance and polish, making sure everything is in top shape for travelers arriving from across the galaxy. For now, a few ships may be temporarily grounded, but if history tells us anything, they’ll be back up and running faster than the Falcon making the Kessel Run.
