Disney is moving ahead with their plans for Flamingo Crossing. Their crew recently started construction on the site. Flamingo Crossing is located on the west side of Walt Disney World property. It consists of retail space for restaurants, stores, and hotels.
The current project will add a 250,000-square-foot retail hub and 1,700 parking spaces. The retail hub will consist of Target and several tenants inside the store. So far, the list of tenants include PDQ, Bento Asian Kitchen + Sushi, Five Guys, Ben & Jerry’s and Dunkin’ Donuts. No word yet if other tenants will join, but it’ll be an impressive Target store for Orlando!
Springhill Suites by Marriott is currently in place there, but Disney also has four additional resorts are under construction. They’re building the following hotels: Residence Inn by Marriott, Fairfield by Marriott, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton. These four hotels were originally estimated to be open by end of 2020, but we’ll have to stay tuned for updates if the schedule changes.
A 12,500-square-foot Walgreens store will also join the Flamingo Crossing site. Many are looking forward to the announcement of other possible retailers who might join the area.
We will post updates on the development of Flamingo Crossing when new information becomes available.
