Co-Director Chris Buck Shares There May Be a ‘Frozen 3‘. Co-Director Chris Buck had spoken with Radio Times to discuss the premiere of Into the Unknown: Making of Frozen 2 on Disney+. During the interview, Chris shared that a Frozen 3 was still on the table and to “ask us in six months!”.

“After the first movie it took us about a year before we even thought about a chapter two because you are so emotionally and physically spent by the end of it – and the documentary sort of shows that, and you know it’s three to four years that kind of intensity.” Buck elaborated, “You need a break and to regroup and think. For us, I would say…ask us in six months!”

The production team has never said “no” to a third film, and on several occasions they have hinted that it’s in the pipeline, but no official word has been announced by Disney at this time.

Co-composer Kristen Anderson-Lopez has shared she and her husband will begin working on Frozen 3 “when there’s a vaccine.”

What do you think of a Frozen 3? Would you like to see an exploration of Anna’s rule as Queen of Arendelle? Potentially see the wedding of Kristoff and Anna? Or see Elsa in her element as the 5th spirit and visiting Ahtohallan more frequently? We would love to hear your thoughts and predictions in the comments.

  1. Not gonna comment on the first option. But option 2 and 3 fail to convey anything related to what Frozen really is. Who did Anna choose at the end of Frozen? Elsa or Kristoff? Who was her True love?

Same goes with Elsa. What was in the forefront of her mind when she stayed in her room? Was her magic, or protecting Anna and their people on her mind when she ran away from her Kingdom? Who was her True love, Anna or her magic?

I despise the notion of people believing Elsa choosing her magic, and seeing memories in her ice tomb is a better alternative to actually living with them, and making memories. Her “role” gives the impression of having no responsibility, and comes across as lazy, which Elsa is anything but-going off of her working 14 hours a day as Queen, and wanting to be the best leader for her people.

As Frozen’s entire premise revolves around Elsa and Anna, having them prioritize other things-that they never showed any interest to beforehand- diminishes the effect of the first film’s message, and their love.

  2. Please reunite the sisters. The ending of Frozen II was so terrible! How could they just send Elsa away from her birthright to her throne and also her true love, her sister? They need to be together. That’s what Frozen is about. It’s what the marketing literally tells us, too! And for the love of all that is Frozen, please no Kristoff/Anna wedding. Maybe break them up?
