‘13 Reasons Why‘ Star Gets Audition For ‘The Little Mermaid‘ With Help From Fans. Christian Navarro may not be a household name yet, but his wildly supportive fans may have helped push him further into the spotlight.
Navarro is best known by his fans as Tony Parilla in the Netflix Series, 13 Reasons Why. Mid-August, Christian shared a tweet stating, “So I heard Harry Styles passed on Prince Eric, well…I can sing. Black Ariel/Latino Prince…no ones called but Season 3 [13 Reasons Why] drops next week and I think it’s one hell of an audition.”
Though the tweet was partially in jest at Harry Styles passing on the role, it appears Disney caught wind of the tweet and reached out to Navarro’s team to give him a shot at the role for Prince Eric in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.
Christian shared his love for his dedicated fans who helped to get the news to Disney that he was interested in the role. Disney has not announced who else they are auditioning for the role of Prince Eric, but it seems they are still on the look out for the next live-action Disney Prince.
The only confirmed casting has been for Halle Bailey (Ariel), Jacob Tremblay (Flounder), Awkwafina (Scuttle), and Javier Bardem rumored to play King Triton and rumors that Melissa McCarthy will portray the villainous Ursula.
Who would you like to see as Prince Eric in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid? What other Disney Classics would you like to see as a live-action remake? Do you think Disney has gone too far or do you like the remakes? Let us know in the comments, we would love to hear your thoughts.
