Chris Hemsworth Will Portray WWE’s Hulk Hogan in New Biopic. Back in February 2019 it was announced that Chris Hemsworth has been cast in the role of Hulk Hogan for a new biopic that was in the works. Joker Director Todd Phillips is signed on to direct the biopic and Scott Silver and John Pollono have been pegged to pen the script for the film.
During a recent interview with ScreenRant, Chris was asked about his future work, including the Hulk Hogan biopic, and it turns out, he hasn’t even read a script for the film, but he is very excited to get started and to learn more about the world of professional wrestling.
“Look, I haven’t read a script yet. I know it’s being written now and worked on. I know very little about that. It’s sort of in the process now,” Hemsworth said. “I’m just fascinated by that world, and I think they’re pretty keen to show a side of the world that people haven’t seen before. I’m as intrigued as you are.”
Turns out, Chris Hemsworth is Hulk Hogan’s personal choice to portray him in a biopic. Hogan first shared his thoughts on casting a couple years after Thor was released in theaters. “You know who I thought would be good? That guy that did that action move, Thor,” Hogan shared in an interview with Cape Breton Post in 2013.
Other than Hemsworth, no other formal casting choices have been announced and it is currently unknown when production will be set to begin. Chris’ schedule is pretty full for the time being once things return to normal. Filming for Thor: Love and Thunder was set to begin in Summer 2020, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, production has been indefinitely delayed for all in-progress Marvel Studios projects.
