Finding your favorite characters at Walt Disney World may be a challenge. In fact, some of the most exciting encounters happen spontaneously. What makes a character interaction so special is how they respond and relate to you and your family. Today, I’d like to share with you my favorite character interactions on Disney property.
*Princess Meetings at Magic Kingdom. You can find Belle, Cinderella, and Aurora {aka Sleeping Beauty} at the Town Square Theater. The Town Square Theater is located to your right as you pass through the gates of Magic Kingdom. The princesses greet you with a sweet smile and talk about their “story” with you and your little princess. They’ll even pick your child up and hold her on their lap while they sign her “storybook”. It is a super magical experience! They are all three in one greeting area. Once you enter the area, you move from princess to princess on your own time. They’ll spin their princess dresses alongside your little one, give sweet hugs, and make you feel like you are part of their world.
*Characterpalooza at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As you exit The Magic of Disney Animation show at Hollywood Studios, you find yourself in a room with some of Walt’s finest drawings and past tools for animating. Shortly around the corner, you enter a room of characters. In separate greeting spots, you’ll find Winnie the Pooh, Sorcerer Mickey, Chip and Dale, the Incredibles. This area is air conditioned, spacious, and has some characters you might not meet otherwise. Here, too, the characters provide great interactions with your young ones. Sorcerer Mickey even allowed my daughter a kiss on his nose! You can take your time moving from character spot to character spot. Some of the more hard to find characters are also here. Rafiki, Pocahontas, Snow White’s Wicked Queen, and Meeko are among some of the rarer characters you’ll find here.
*Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland at EPCOT’s United Kingdom Pavilion. Step into the United Kingdom Pavilion at EPCOT, and you’re surrounded by all good British things. Walk a little further into the shop, and you’ll come upon a room where there is a small stage and another room just past that. On the small stage, Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland take turns appearing. These two characters take time to talk to about their friends-the Tweedles and the Cheshire cat, as well as Bert the chimney sweep. In minutes, you’ll want to start singing the chimney sweep song alongside Mary! They are super friendly and take any opportunity to bring you into their world. Just past the stage you’ll find Tigger and Pooh. They give lots of hugs and pose for fun pictures with you.
Have you met any elusive characters at Walt Disney World? What is your favorite character interaction that you or your children have had? I can’t wait to hear about it!
Magically Yours,
Carrie

We had a special autograph book that had a picture of Buzz, Woody, and Jessie all on one page. We went to meet Buzz ( who uses a stamp, not normally an actual autograph) and when he saw the picture of Jessie he got a marker from his handler and wrote “Buzz (hearts)” right over Jessie. Such a cool experience for my daughter and a great memory for us. Are the princesses different during the Halloween party? In October we went to their greet during the NSSHP and we saw Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel with their respective Princes.
Those are all amazing! How special that you have one from each park!
I know! I tell everyone about that meet and greet. It’s so nice to be in a fairly uncrowded spot.
That’s awesome. I love it when they take time to vista and interact with the kids. It’s so special.
It’s really hard to choose. During our Honeymoon, the character interactions were just magical. Minnie and Mickey, Stitch, Aladdin and Jasmine, and Tigger had to have been my favorite.
(Magic Kingdom) – We were first in line at the door that lead to Mickey’s Backstage Room. A knock came at the door and when I answered “Who is it?”, Mickey opened the door and one can only imagine how easily the 3-4 year old version of me quickly took over. They took 10 minutes with us and even took a picture with Mickey proposing to me and my husband proposing to Minnie.
(Animal Kingdom) – After waiting for Lilo and Stitch, I was truly excited to have an interaction with him, especially since I have an uncanny Stitch impression. Once I opened my mouth and began to talk to Stitch in “Stitch”, all Stitch would do is cover his mouth and suggest I had stolen his voice. It was wonderful especially since instead of giving me a kiss, he “slobbered” me.
Tigger has always been my favorite character of the Pooh tales. I mentioned it to him and he tried to steal me away from Gus (my husband). It got to the point where we photos of Tigger stealing me away.
(Epcot) – Of course in the Moroccan Pavilion, we were able to meet Aladdin and Jasmine. After mentioning to them that our wedding was themed after the movie, they stayed with us for a few minutes. We even got a picture similar to Minnie and Mickey’s picture but we didn’t switch partners to propose. Aladdin even vented about his dad ruining their wedding. LoL
When you get the right “friends of a character”, the meet and greet can be more memorable than anyone can imagine.
We love the ones back in the Magic of Disney Animation also! And those are not usually as crowded either. 🙂
Our favorite was an easy to access one – Alladin and Jasmine. We were the last ones in line before a break. They both carried on a 5 minute conversation with my 9 year old while the 3 year old held Jasmine’s hand. They talked about where we were from and compared notes about things. She loved the conversation. They are not her number one favorites. That would be Aurora, but by far her favorite visit. Awesome memories were made.
