Earlier this month we shared the news that some Disney Character meets would be returning to Walt Disney World this fall. At the time Disney said that although the environment is not right just yet for hugs and autographs, you’ll soon be able to have individualized time with some of your favorite characters, getting to visit with them in a themed location and snap a photo or two.

Today, Disney has given an update for the Character Meets coming to Walt Disney World next month. On the Mickey at Town Square website, it now lists the character meets as “Sightings.” Which to me means you are not going to be able to get anywhere near your favorite Disney Characters.
The current list of Character Sightings are as follows:
- Minnie Mouse at Red Carpet Dreams in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Disney Junior Stars in the Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Disney Princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall in the Magic Kingdom
- Mickey Mouse in his 50th Anniversary EARidescent outfit at Town Square Theater in the Magic Kingdom
So far not every Disney Character webpage has been updated yet to reflect the new Sightings only Cinderella and Tiana have been updated.
Also for the Disney Princess meet at Princess Fairytale Hall in the Magic Kingdom a complete list of who will be available has not been posted online.
It seems like getting anywhere close to your favorite Disney Character is not going to happen but at least you will be able to see some of them outside a cavalcade or from a distance.
