Big Changes Coming to Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane this July
Planning Your Walt Disney World Adventure Just Got Easier! This summer, Disney is making exciting changes to Disney Genie+ and individual Lightning Lane entry!

Here’s how Lightning Lane passes will work beginning July 24.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass
When you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you may make up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park, in advance of your visit. You’ll also be able to choose available times as you make your selections.
On the day of your visit, once you use a selection, check the My Disney Experience app for availability to make an additional selection.
Lightning Lane Single Pass
Lightning Lane Single Pass will work much like it does today, where you can secure a time to ride one of our most highly demanded attractions, but you’ll now be able to make your purchase and plan in advance.
How to Plan Ahead
Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and other select hotels will be able to plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance.
These advance purchase windows will let guests secure some of their must-do rides and experiences after they’ve had some time to decide what dining reservations they want to book and any other plans they may need to consider.
Guests may purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, a Lightning Lane Single Pass or both. The app will also be updated to make it quicker and easier to purchase and plan, with fewer steps and a new option to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass in one transaction.
Lightning Lane passes will blend features from our current services and the previously offered FastPass+ service, giving guests the choice to plan ahead and removing the hassle of planning during their vacation.
Here’s what we’re all wondering: How do the new Lightning Lane passes differ from Disney Genie+ service and individual Lightning Lane entry?
For theme park visits beginning July 24, 2024, Lightning Lane Multi Pass will replace Disney Genie+ service, and Lightning Lane Single Pass will replace individual “à la carte” Lightning Lane entry. Starting July 24, guests can purchase Lightning Lane passes and make selections days in advance of their arrival.
Guests of Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels can purchase up to 7 days in advance—and other guests can purchase up to 3 days in advance.
There are also attraction groupings for Lightning Lane Multi Pass. At Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests will be able to select up to three Lightning Lane selections per day within two groups: one from the first grouping of the more popular attractions and two from the rest of the available attractions. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park attractions will not have these groupings.
Pricing will be the same as it was for Genie+. It will vary based on the date and theme park Guests are visiting.
Park Hopper and Lightning Lane Multi Pass:
Great news for Park Hopper ticket holders! Lightning Lane Multi Pass works with your Park Hopper benefit. Here’s how it works:
- Make your first three selections for the park you purchase the pass for.
- Once you use your first selection, you can choose Lightning Lane experiences at any park, subject to availability.
Modifying Your Lightning Lane Selections
Flexibility is key! When you make a Lightning Lane selection, you can choose an arrival window to fit your plans. If your schedule changes, you can modify your selection after purchase, subject to availability.
