Cast Members Spotted Test Riding Tron Lightcycle Run. I know I say this weekly, but the excitement level is getting to be too much for us to handle, over the fact that Tron Coaster could be opening sooner than anyone thinks. We actually spotted humans riding Lightcycle Run. Queue the countdown!
While checking out Storybook Circus at Disney’s Magic Kingdom and riding Barnstormer (yes we actually ride it) we got a chance to get a good view of Tron Lightcycle Run operating. To our shock, we noticed arms and legs, and after we second-guessed ourselves a few minutes later we saw it was actually humans. Cast Members to be exact. Not Guests, more than likely the ride design team and Imagineers.
We ran our butts off to get on the PeopleMover to get a better view, but by the time we got to see the newest attraction in action, there was just an empty coaster running, and behind the empty one was a dummy filled on. You can check out some of the images we took and a small video below.

From Film to Attraction
Groundbreaking computer animation and brilliant visual effects created a legacy that delights fans to this day.
In 1982, Disney made filmmaking history with TRON, the first production of its kind to mix live-action with computer-generated visuals and backlit animation. Loved by legions around the world, it went on to inspire video games, comic books, an animated series and the 2010 big-screen sequel, TRON: Legacy.
Today, Shanghai Disneyland honors the franchise with one of the coolest and fastest indoor roller coasters in any Disney theme park—TRON Lightcycle Power Run.
