A dance studio group from New Bedford Massachusetts received a very special surprise at Walt Disney World this week when members of the touring cast of Disney’s “The Lion King” popped by to pay a visit to their Disney Performing Arts Workshop.
The students from The Illusions Academy of Dance Performance Company were taking part in a workshop at Saratoga Springs Resort when they were visited by Nia Halloway, Gerald Ramsey and Ben Lipitz who are currently playing Nala, Mufasa and Pumbaa on the tour. The stars spent time with the group answering questings and sharing tips with the young performers. To add to the excitement, Mickey Mouse also made a special appearance.
The students were at Walt Disney World to participate in “Disney Broadway Magic” and workshop that gives young performers the chance to re-create a scene from a Disney Broadway musicals and learn about all the pieces that need to fit together to put on a production. Areas covered include music, staging, costuming and props. This is just one of the many workshops created by the entertainment experts at Disney Performing Arts. Each workshop is designed to help students improve their skills and develop new ones. Other areas covered include instrumental, choral, theater and dance.
