Captain America Brave New World Box Office Results
Captain America Brave New World debuted with a $100 million opening weekend, making it the first $100M opener on hand for 2025’s domestic box office. The film’s performance suggests it is doing well for a B- CinemaScore MCU movie.

Captain America: Brave New World sees Sam Wilson, now officially Captain America, grappling with the legacy of the shield and forging his own path. 1 He faces new threats and challenges, including a mysterious and powerful adversary whose actions force Sam to confront difficult questions about the nature of heroism and the future of the world. The film explores themes of leadership, responsibility, and what it means to be a symbol in a complex world. 2 Sam must also navigate his relationships with familiar allies and new characters as he strives to protect the world and define his own version of Captain America.

“Brave New World” enjoyed a strong opening weekend, the fourth-largest ever for a Presidents Day holiday. This success further cements the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) dominance at the box office, with four MCU films now holding the top four Presidents Day weekend opening records. These include “Black Panther” ($242M), “Deadpool” ($152M), “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” ($120M), and the aforementioned “Brave New World.” This marks the 35th consecutive MCU film to debut at number one domestically.
Despite potentially lukewarm audience reception (indicated by a “B-” CinemaScore), Disney demonstrated confidence in “Captain America” (likely the film referenced as “Brave New World” above) by investing heavily in its marketing. Rather than cutting costs, as some studios might do with a less-than-stellar CinemaScore, Disney backed the film with significant promotion. Data from iSpot reveals that Disney spent approximately $22 million on linear TV spot ads, generating an impressive 926 million household TV impressions.
