Cape May Cafe – Characters, Clams, And Much More!

Walt Disney World is famous for many things – rides, characters, and FOOD being just a few of them! The restaurant options available at WDW are endless, they offer every type of food imaginable! So while you’re trying to figure out where you want to eat on your trip, I want to highly recommend you check out Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort– where you can dine with characters in the morning, and enjoy fresh seafood in the evening – what could be better?

Breakfast at Cape May Cafe is a character affair, where Goofy, Minnie and Donald don their beach attire and roam the dining room meeting and greeting guests and giving autographs and hugs to all! The food is served buffet style, and features assorted fresh pastries, eggs/bacon/sausage, and delicious french toast and the always amazing Mickey Waffles. Personally I think the best part of the breakfast here is the beach clothes the characters wear – it’s fun to see them in something different, and it makes for some great photo ops

Dinner is a bit different here, it’s still a buffet but there are no characters, and it’s themed as a ‘clambake’, featuring clams, mussels, New England Clam Chowder, crab legs, baked and fried fish options, and fried calamari. It’s a seafood lover’s paradise – but fear not, they have us non-seafood folks covered too – offering options like a pork loin, ribs, roast chicken, mashed potatoes, and assorted other sides and entrees as well. Don’t forget to save room for the dessert here – mouth watering cheesecakes, key lime tarts, cakes/cookies/cupcakes and more await you here

The Beach Club Resort is where you will find this gem of a restaurant, and I encourage you to take some time before or after your meal and check it out – it’s a beautiful place, New England themed with tons of charm and elegance. You might be wondering – How do I get to the Beach Club? You can walk there from Epcot, or take a boat from Hollywood Studios, and buses are available from the other Parks and Downtown Disney

If you’re thinking of staying at the Beach Club, then you would have access to their on site health and fitness club, the Sandcastle Club which offers supervised activities for children ages 3-12, and Stormalong Bay – the huge swimming area that’s its own little water park. Additionally, you have all the ameneties of it’s sister Resort, the Yacht Club Resort available to you as well

Cape May Cafe is a great restaurant that is worth the trip over to the Beach Club – but I would love to know YOUR thoughts – have you eaten there? What did you think?

  1. Cape May Cafe is always a hit with us. The seafood buffet has a ton of choices. Clams, mussels, crab legs, fish, shrimp, plus a great salad bar. Waitstaff is wonderful, very friendly and helpful. A fun bonus is heading out to the beach to sit and watch the goings on after dinner.

  2. We ate at Cape May in April for the Dinner Buffer. I am not a seafood eater and neither are my kids. However, we still had plenty of food choices. My mother-in-law and husband loved all the seafood. Also, it was great to see the Beach Club. It is a beautiful resort.

  3. We ate at the Cape May Cafe last April. I am not a seafood eater and neither are my kids, but we still enjoyed the selections. My mother-in-law and husband said all the seafood was terrific. It was great to get a look at the Beach Club too. What a beautiful resort.

  4. We have eaten at the Cape May Café several times and have always found the food to the very good (8 out of 10) and with a large variety of tastes for everyone in your party. The price has gone up a bit over the years, but this is definitely one of the best all you can eat restaurants on Disney properties.
