The letters adorning the outside of California Adventure will be removed starting Tuesday, meaning today (Monday) is the final day to get last-minute pictures with them. I’ll miss them, but I mentioned in an earlier post that Al Lutz had confirmed that the letters might be used in another part of Anaheim.
The murals at the entrance of the park have already been removed. Lutz said the tiles from the mosaics will be crushed and used in flooring at the Disneyland Hotel, which is currently being remodeled.
The Pixar Play Parade will also go on a year-long hiatus. Instead, mini “Pixar Pop-Ups” will take its place. They will be based on “The Incredibles”, “Toy Story” and “Monsters Inc.” “The Incredibles” pop-up will begin January 14.
The letters and murals are being removed as part of the $1 billion park refurbishment.
