The Cake Bake Shop at the Boardwalk Resort will likely not open prior to the end of the year
Disney’s reimagining of the Boardwalk resort area following the closure of the ESPN club includes the installation of the Cake Bake Shop, a bakery that the Disney website notes will offer ‘delicious cakes, cookies, pies, macarons, coffee, croissants and more.’ The shop was initially slated to open this year, but it looks like that opening has now been pushed back.

The website for the Cake Bake Shop now notes the bakery will be ‘opening soon’ rather than in 2023, indicating a delay in construction. The bakery is replacing the former ESPN club.
Items that will be available at the Cake Bake Shop include:
- Cookies
- French macarons
- Brownies
- Dessert bars
- Pies
- Cheesecakes
The interior of the bakery will feature “counters lined with handmade cakes that are one-of-a-kind in beauty and taste, attractively displayed on French porcelain platters topped with glass domes.”
I for one love a good bakery, and cannot wait for this place to finally open!
