Inside Gideon’s Bakehouse at the East End Market in Winter Park

Don’t you just hate it when you have a craving for Gideon’s cookies on the weekend or a holiday? Wait times have lulled a bit in the last few months, but whenever people are off work you’re looking at a 4 or 5-hour virtual wait! Thankfully, you have options. You can walk around Disney Springs and wait your turn. Or you can take a 35-minute drive to Gideon’s Winter Park location!

You’ll find Gideon’s original location in East End Market, Winter Park. They opened in October of 2016 and have been going strong ever since. The storefront is small and busy but you’ll end up waiting a much shorter time than you would at Disney Springs, even on weekends! In my experience, a Sunday wait is 20-30 minutes. Another benefit to visiting the East End location is that you can pre-order your cookies and cakes! Just visit their website to submit your order and shave your wait time down even more!

The one downside I’ve found to visiting Gideon’s in Winter Park is the lack of Cold Brew. I love all of Gideon’s Cold Brew offerings! However, because it is located inside a market, there are loads of local beverage options to try, not to mention other foods and goodies you won’t get at Disney Springs!

If you’re looking for suggestions, I’m going to tell you to order everything on the menu. But to cut to the chase, there are two limited-edition cookies this month: the Kris Kringle Cookie with coconut, caramel, vanilla, and coffee, and the Krampus cookie with chocolate and Andes mint. If you like Andes mints, you’ll also want to try their new mini cakes! And pro tip: get the little container of frosting to dip your cookie in. It’s amazing!
