Disneyland has reopened and soon guests from out of state will be able to visit! When Disneyland reopened, not all rides and attractions were open. One of those is Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.
We now have great news for Buzz Lightyear fans. Starting June 26, you’ll once again be able to score points and help defeat the evil emperor Zurg!

The attraction in Tomorrowland is similar to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Guests help our favorite astronaut, Buzz Lightyear, defeat his nemesis Zurg. The Disneyland website describes the ride as:
“The Evil Emperor Zurg is stealing batteries to power a new weapon of destruction, and Buzz Lightyear—from the Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story movies—needs your help!
Manoeuvre your XP-40 space cruiser through the shadowy Gamma Quadrant and beyond. Face down Zurg and his rampaging squad of robots and fire at will! Use the joystick to spin a full 360 degrees and blast glowing “Z” targets with your laser cannon to earn points.
Do you have what it takes to stop Zurg before it’s too late? The fate of the toy world is in your hands!”

Guests can score points and are rewarded with a rank at the end of the ride. It is a big deal to reach 999,999 points and become a Galactic Hero! You can even find tips and secrets to getting a higher score online.
