Bullseye Gallops Into Chinese New Year 2026 Celebrations at Disney Parks in Asia
Chinese New Year is right around the corner, and Disney is saddling up for the Year of the Horse with colorful celebrations at Shanghai Disney Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. Festivities begin January 28 at Shanghai Disney Resort and January 30 at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, running through early March, and this year’s zodiac spotlight shines on strength, vitality, and freedom. To mark the occasion, Disney is bringing in a very fitting guest of honor, Bullseye, Woody’s loyal companion from Pixar’s Toy Story films, who is making special appearances across both resorts in celebration of the Year of the Horse.

At Shanghai Disney Resort, Bullseye will debut at the resort for the very first time during a special welcome moment on January 28 before settling into Toy Story Land throughout the Spring Festival season. Over in Hong Kong Disneyland, Bullseye will also trot into Toy Story Land for photo opportunities and even appear on a glowing Mickey-shaped lantern in Town Square. Across Shanghai Disneyland, guests will spot festive horse-themed décor lining Mickey Avenue and Gardens of Imagination, highlighted by a massive lantern centerpiece anchoring the celebration. Entertainment will return with favorites like Mickey Avenue Shanghai Swing, while Goofy joins the fun dressed as the God of Fortune to share seasonal cheer.

Characters are also stepping out in all-new Chinese New Year outfits at Shanghai Disney Resort, with designs featuring intricate horse motifs, gold ingot patterns, and embroidered symbols of prosperity. Mickey sports a koi fish hat and horse-embroidered jacket, while Minnie shines in a water-drop-shaped collar top with ruffled cuffs and a horse-themed sachet. Duffy and Friends embrace a softer, modern look with pastel shades and fluffy trims, and Winnie the Pooh and pals cozy up with festive red scarves. Dining takes center stage as well, with curated Chinese New Year menus at Royal Banquet Hall and Lumière’s Kitchen, plus sweet seasonal treats like Mandarin sorbets and Kumquat ice cream.

Over at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Chinese New Year celebrations will overlap with the park’s ongoing 20th anniversary festivities, creating an extra vibrant atmosphere. Mickey and Friends will appear in festive outfits along Main Street, U.S.A., while Duffy and Friends charm guests at their playhouse in seasonal looks. Goofy once again returns as the God of Fortune, spreading hugs and good luck. Starting February 17, guests will receive complimentary Disney-themed lai see red envelopes with chocolate coins and special dining and shopping perks. Exclusive Year of the Horse merchandise, lucky bags, collectible medallions, and seasonal dishes round out the celebration, making both resorts a must-visit destination for welcoming the lunar new year in true Disney style.
