On Tuesday, Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, and three daughters filed a lawsuit against the medical examiner’s office and the Orange County sheriff seeking injunctive relief to prevent the release of any records — including photographs, video and audio recordings, and “statutorily protected autopsy information” — related to his death.
“Plaintiffs will suffer irreparable harm in the form of extreme mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress if Defendants release the Records in response to public records requests or otherwise disseminate the Records for any other reason or purpose,” the lawsuit stated.
Citing “legitimate privacy interests,” the family is seeking to block the release of the records to the public, and that they only be released to his spouse and daughters.

Saget rose to fame on the hit TV show “Full House.” He was in Florida during the weekend he passed away. He performed his stand-up comedy act on Friday night in Orlando. He was due to check out of his hotel room Sunday morning but his family was unable to reach him. They contacted hotel security who sent a security staffer to check on Saget. The security staffer found him unresponsive in his bed.
Last week, his family has released a statement regarding the cause of death following the results of his autopsy. The official statement reads:
“In the weeks since Bob’s passing, we have been overwhelmed with the incredible outpouring of love from Bob’s fans, which has been a great comfort for us and for which we are eternally grateful. Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities’ investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us.“
“As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter.“
