It seems that Bob Iger will be taking on more responsibilities outside of the Walt Disney Company this year. Bob is joining the ranks of California Governor Gavin Newsom’s business recovery task force. The new task force is comprised of California business owners, notable politicians, and corporate leaders.
The goal of this business recovery task force is to help the state of California recover from economic damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The group includes 80 people who will meet twice a month for the remainder of the year. Bob Iger will be joining the ranks of members such as Apple CEO Tim Cook and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to develop plans on how to get the state out of their recession.
Governor Gavin Newsom spoke about the concept behind business recovery task force in his daily press conference:
”We recognize our unique responsibility as Californians to do our fair share, and to help lead the way in terms of job creation, retention, and growth.”
Bob Iger will be busy between trying to revive the California economy and planning new safety protocols for the reopening of Disney theme parks. The important thing is to continue practicing social distancing until this pandemic is over.
