Disney executive Bob Chapek hints that a Disney+ subscription price increase could be coming soon.
During yesterday’s investor call, Disney CEO Bob Chapek says the company feels “bullish” about adjusting the streaming service’s price as its library bulks up with more shows and movies.
Disney+, which launched in late 2019, has raised its U.S. subscription price once so far, to $8 a month, a $1 increase.

“As we increase our content investment, we believe that that’s going to give us the ability to adjust our price.”
—Bob Chapek, Walt Disney Company CEO
However, Chapek didn’t say how much prices will go up or when it might happen.
The company is proud of their strong results in the second quarter, including the continued growth of their streaming services with 7.9 million Disney+ subscribers added in the past quarter.
