Blue Bayou and Pirates of the Caribbean Set for 2026 Refurbishment

A temporary silence is coming to New Orleans Square as Pirates of the Caribbean and the Blue Bayou Restaurant prepare for a scheduled refurbishment starting in early May. While the attraction will remain closed for a full maintenance cycle, the Blue Bayou is currently slated to return to service first. Upon its early reopening, guests can expect a modified dining experience, potentially featuring a limited menu or adjusted seating while work continues on the neighboring attraction.

Both Pirates of the Caribbean and the Blue Bayou Restaurant are scheduled to begin their refurbishment on May 4, 2026. If you’re looking to squeeze in one last voyage or a final waterfront meal, your last opportunity will be May 3.

While the attraction’s reopening date remains under wraps, the Blue Bayou Restaurant is tentatively slated to return in late May. However, fans should be prepared for a “modified dining experience.” Because the ride will still be undergoing work, the famous lagoon views will be obstructed, and guests might experience some ambient refurbishment noise during their meal.

Disney hasn’t specified exactly what’s being updated on the ride, so this is likely a standard window for general maintenance and track work. We’ll be keeping a weather eye on the horizon for an official reopening date for the Pirates!
