‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Remains Strong at the Box Office While ‘Strange World’ Premiere Suffers

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘ entered it’s third weekend in theaters over Thanksgiving break and remained one of the highest grossing films of the week and nearly crossing the $600 Million threashold worldwide, while Disney’s latest animated adventure ‘Strange World‘ tanked at the box office. The film premiered early for Thankgiving audiences, yet is projected to be Disney’s biggest box office flop since Treasure Planet (2002).

At the time of writing, Strange World has received a fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 73% by critics and a 60% rating from audiences. The star-studded cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal (Searcher Clade), Alan Tudyk (Narrator, Radio Host 1, Duffle), Dennis Quaid (Jaeger Clade), Jaboukie Young-White (Ethan Clasde), Gabbrielle Union (Meridian Clade), and Lucy Liu (Callisto Mal), but it seems the vocal talent featured in the movie was not enough to save it at the box office.

Strange World is currently projected to bring in $30 Million over the course of it’s 5-day premiere weekend, which is concerning for Disney given that the reported production budget ranged from $120-130 Million, not counting advertising.
