When the trailers for “Monsters University” were released this past June, we found out quite a few tidbits about the upcoming prequel to “Monsters, Inc.”. One being it takes place when Mike and Sully are attending college, hence the name “Monsters University.” In those same four trailers, we find that Sully pranks Mike to hilarious results as Pixar showcases it’s version of a “college” movie. We get to see Sully and Mike and how they explore the college years and all the “typical” experiences – with all the partying, pranking, and studying that goes along with two guys preparing to become professional scream-catchers.
Recently, during an interview, Billy Crystal talks about “Monsters University” and what to expect as well as releasing a few morsels that have not yet been released by Disney or Pixar.
Crystal talked to Entertainment Weekly and told them:
“[Mike and Sully] end up in the same fraternity where they have this scare competition — like Greek Games in college”
“They have to mobilize a group, sort of like Revenge of the Nerds-monsters, and get them ready to be scary.”
The actor went on to make you think that Mike and Sully are not going to be the maturest of all college students:
“They’re 17 and 18 years old in the script. My guy has a retainer, even.”
“Monsters University” will be out in theaters on June 21, 2013.

I like when *Fill In The Blank* movie sequel actually seems to have a plot and not just slapped together and thrown out for commercial purposes. This already sounds like it will have plenty to entertain both adults and children.
I cannot wait for this movie to come out! My kids aren’t as excited about it as I am since they are so little but eventually I know they will love Monster Inc.
I am very excited about this movie. Just recently my five year old stopped considering Monsters Inc a scary movie and we can enjoy it together – he will flip when this is released. Plus I have always been a Billy Crystal fan!
I completely agree Danielle!!! We have been really excited this since we found out about it, can’t wait to see it!!!
I can’t wait to see this! We love Monsters Inc. at our house.
