Bill Nye is Suing Disney for Millions in Unpaid Profits

Bill Nye has filed a lawsuit against Disney, ABC, Buena Vista Television, Touchstone, and other affiliates, for fraudlent concealment, fraudulent inducement, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty. Most commonly known as “The Science Guy” Bill claims the company owes him $9 million. According to Bill Nye, he realized an error 9 years ago and attempted to obtain associated documents as proof of the company violating their contract, by misclasifying revenues and expenses from his show, Bill Nye the Science Guy.

The children’s television show aired September of 1993 to June of 1998. After getting nowhere with Disney, Nye resorted to using an outside auditor who found the Buena Vista Television applied incorrect rates for distribution fees, did not report royalties, mischaracterized revenues, and improperly deducted foreign taxes; prompting Nye’s lawsuit.

Disney has not commented on the lawsuit.
