Hold onto your hats and glasses—because the wildest ride in the wilderness is about to roar back to life! Disneyland Paris has announced that Big Thunder Mountain will reopen to guests on June 21, 2025, after a multi-month renovation project that was just as ambitious as a runaway mine train.

This Frontierland fan-favorite has undergone a gold-standard refresh led by teams from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, along with pros from Design & Delivery, Maintenance, and the Central Workshops. The mission? Bring back the thrills while preserving the rich storytelling and intricate details that make Big Thunder Mountain the undisputed legend of the land.

Among the standout updates:
- Track and Tunnel TLC: Sections of the iconic track and tunnels were replaced or deeply refurbished to ensure smoother, safer adventures through the dynamite-filled caverns.
- Drones Take Flight: For the first time ever at Disneyland Paris, drones were deployed to help clean and restore hard-to-reach areas of the mountain, like the majestic arch.
- Sensory Enhancements: Water features, sound effects, and visual illusions have been re-tuned to crank up the immersion and wild west ambiance.
- Scenic Restoration: From wooden elements like Mill Camp Tower to the Lavinia steam engine and countless gold rush-era props, every dusty detail was either cleaned, restored, or given a fresh patina to keep that authentic “frontier grit” intact.
- Animal Animatronic Glow-Up: Beloved critters including mules, bats, and that scene-stealing goat have all received loving touch-ups—some even got brand-new coats!
