Full Details on the Big Changes Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney has confirmed that DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will officially close on February 2, 2026. This closure marks the final phase of the DinoLand U.S.A. transformation, with the last day for guests to experience both attractions being February 1, 2026.

In a recent announcement, Disney confirmed that several of Restaurantosaurus’s menu items will be moving to Harambe Market in early 2026. To prepare for the new additions, Harambe Market will temporarily close for refurbishment this winter, though specific dates for the closure and reopening have not yet been released.

February 1, 2026, will be the final day to see Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Chip ‘n’ Dale in their iconic DinoLandcostumes. The characters, who have become a fan-favorite part of the area, will be relocated to a new section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting on February 2. More details about their new home are expected to be announced in the coming months.

This final round of closures for the Tropical Americas project follows previous phases of the land’s transformation. TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures closed on January 12, 2025, and The Boneyard permanently closed on September 2, 2025. Site preparation work is currently underway throughout the former DinoLand U.S.A. area.

All of the closures are part of the transformation of the area into Tropical Americas, a new 11-acre land inspired by the vibrant landscapes, wildlife, and cultures of Central and South America. First announced at D23, the new land, which is set to open in 2027, will include:

  • A thrilling Indiana Jones-themed adventure.
  • A new carousel inspired by animals from Disney films.
  • One of Walt Disney World’s largest quick-service dining locations.
