We don’t have any children but one of the most enjoyable experiences for us is to stand near the train station end of Main Street USA and watch the kid’s faces as they look down the street and Cinderella Castle looms up in front of them. It’s the most fun watching first timers because their eyes get about as big as saucers and they start dragging whoever may be holding their hand towards the castle.
First timers are fairly easy to spot because Mom or Dad usually tries to position themselves to get a picture as the kids get their first look. The looks vary from great big smiles to tearful joy because many of them have either heard of the castle or have seen pictures, neither of which do the real thing justice.
We had an amazing experience on our last visit as we waited to board It’s A Small World. As we got into the boat, in the very front seat, some Grand Parents got into the second seat with their Grandson about five years of age. One of them tapped me on the shoulder and asked if we would mind if the little boy could sit between us for the ride because it was his first time. Of course we said YES, I don’t know of a real Disney lover who would say anything else. It was just amazing to watch his face as we rode through, he was hypnotized. I do regret that his Grand Parents didn’t ask us if we could switch places as we waited in the boarding line because we would have gladly done so. But – because they didn’t we had an experience we will never forget. As we left they said a very sincere thank you but I just had to say, no – we want to thank you!!
Take some time to watch kid’s faces as they begin their walk down Main Street USA, it’s a marvelous experience. As always, enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World!!

My favorite thing to do is to watch kids’ faces during the parades. It really is one of the most magically things at Disney for me.
