As Disneyland Hotel Paris begins to welcome guests back after an impressive refurbishment, it is also introducing an extraordinary collection of new cast costumes that showcase a unique blend of Disney imagination and French craftsmanship. The creation of these costumes was a collaborative effort, guided by the artistic vision of Walt Disney Imagineering. With the support of Société Dutel, a renowned fabric manufacturer from Lyon specializing in jacquard weaving, the team embarked on a design journey that combined traditional themes with modern elegance. Jean-Christophe Dutel, Managing Director of Société Dutel, shared his pride in contributing to the Disney legacy, emphasizing the importance of their made-in-France fabrics in bringing the costume designs to life.

Karine Soares, Disneyland Paris’s own Fashion Designer, played a pivotal role in the development of these costumes. Drawing on the timeless appeal of Disney’s royal characters and the historical richness of the Victorian and medieval eras, Soares and her team crafted costumes that are not only visually stunning but also practical for everyday wear. The design process focused on durability, comfort, and the seamless incorporation of regal elements into contemporary fashion.

The new costumes were created from lightweight materials, allowing for greater mobility and ensuring that cast members can perform their roles with ease. Among the design highlights are the intricate jewel buttons and the Fleur de Lys motifs, which add a touch of royal flair to the attire. Soares expressed particular pride in these embellishments, viewing them as the quintessential finishing touch that elevates the costumes from mere clothing to symbols of elegance and tradition.
