ABC’s 50th Anniversary Special
ABC has shared a behind the scenes look at the preparations for their upcoming special for the 50th Anniversary Celebration, and to say we are excited is an understatement! The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World will air on Friday, October 1st from Walt Disney World and will be a production like we’ve never seen before.
Hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, the two hour special will include performances from Christina Aguilera and Halle Bailey, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra from the renowned Orlando Philharmonic. We are also sure to see appearances from Mickey, Minnie and other favorite characters. We can’t wait to see them dressed in their Earidescent outfits for the special occasion!

The video gives us a glimpse of the stage built just for the celebration, which is a 360 degree design that centers around the Partners Statue in front of Cinderella Castle. Ben Hall, Creative Director of Performances, describes the stage as a compass rose, with each of the four points representing the four parks of Walt Disney World.
‘The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World’ airs Friday, Oct. 1 at 8/7c on ABC. It will begin streaming on Hulu starting Oct. 2 and on Disney+ on Oct. 8.
