Reservations for The Beak and Barrel Delayed After Pirate Rush Crashes System
Arrgh, mateys—seems the opening salvo for reservations at The Beak and Barrel didn’t quite go as planned. Disney’s brand-new pirate tavern, set to debut August 29 in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland, was supposed to open its booking window this week. But with too many eager swashbucklers trying to snag a spot at once, the reservation system was overwhelmed and promptly sank beneath the waves.

Now, Disney says reservations will “set sail” the week of August 18, 2025, though the exact day remains under wraps. When the tavern finally opens, guests will have 45 minutes to enjoy Caribbean-inspired small plates, colorful cocktails (including one in a souvenir mug), and lively entertainment from Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn and her chatty parrot first mate, Rummy.

The Beak and Barrel will also operate during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but those holiday-specific bookings will launch later this year. For now, pirates and landlubbers alike will just have to keep a weather eye on Disney’s site next week to snag their spot before they’re all gone.

- Keep yer compass handy – Bookmark the reservation page and refresh often during the week of August 18.
- Man the crow’s nest early – Be ready before the official booking time so you can pounce the moment reservations open.
- Hoist the fastest sails – A strong Wi-Fi signal (or wired connection) is your best weapon against the booking seas.
- Choose yer treasure quick – With a 45-minute limit, decide in advance what food and drink you want so you can enjoy more pirate merriment.
- Don’t forget the rum! – Or, at least, the cocktail in the take-home mug—it’s the perfect loot.
