One of the new shows on Disney XD I have yet to have a chance to check out, is Marvel’s ‘Avengers Assemble’. The new series takes the spot of the rather excellent ‘Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ that ran on the network for two season previously. As you can tell from the artwork, the new series is more in line with the recent Marvel film, ‘The Avengers’, both in tone and style, featuring the same basic core characters as the film, while introducing The Falcon to audiences. The show has been getting pretty great word of mouth from the fans so far, which is great, so I’m happy to hear that Disney is releasing ‘Avengers Assemble: Assembly Required’ on DVD on October 8, 2013.
The new new DVD set will feature the two part pilot episode of the series, giving those curious enough to check it out a taste of what the series has to offer. It’s a great way for new fans of the series to test the waters, before putting down money for an entire season that they may be unsure of. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out on this release, and I look forward to giving it a look to see how the series turned out.
