Producer of ‘Avatar’ Films Jon Landau Visits Walt Disney Imagineering to ‘Talk About Future’

On Wednesday, Jon Landau, the producer of James Cameron’s “Avatar” films, posted a picture of himself at the Walt Disney Imagineering headquarters on his Instagram. Landau expressed, “Enjoyed a fantastic day at @waltdisneyimagineering discussing future endeavors.”

The Walt Disney World Resort has already witnessed the success of the “Avatar” inspired land, Pandora – The World of Avatar, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. There are plans for an “Avatar” experience at Disneyland Resort, described by D23 as being “equally amazing” to the Animal Kingdom land.

However, specific details have not yet been revealed. While an announcement at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo suggested the experience would be in Disney California Adventure, Disneyland officials later clarified that the location was not confirmed.

In January James Cameron sat down with Variety Magazine to discuss updates to the Avatar experiences within parks stating, “When Bob Iger came back a couple weeks ago, I did send him an email and say, ‘You know, we can do ‘Avatar 2’ and 3 motifs and put them into the physical hardware of ‘Avatar Flight of Passage.’ He liked that idea.
