On Friday, Aug. 12, a new specialty store opened at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort. Michelle Baumann, writing for the Disney Parks Blog, announced the opening of Apricot Lane Boutique, a specialty store designed to appeal to women with an eye toward fashion trends and celebrity style.
Apricot Lane Boutique is located in the former Orlando Harley Davidson store location at Pleasure Island; that store has relocated to Downtown Disney West Side.
Apricot Lane Boutique offers guests the opportunity to shop for contemporary fashion, including apparel, jewelry, handbags and other accessories – all with an eye toward current “must have” items and brands. Among the brands the store carries are Miss Me, Free People, Vintage Havana, Gentle Fawn, 7 for all Mankind, Chaser and Good Works Make a Difference.
“Many of the designer labels found in Apricot Lane are worn by celebrities and seen in the pages of current fashion magazines,” said Founder and CEO Ken Petersen. “We are excited to give the millions of guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort a place where they can replicate those looks.”
Apricot Lane, which launched in 2007, positions itself as a store where both mothers and daughters can shop, and can find current looks. It carries a limited number of each item at a store, a strategy to help customers create a more individualized style. Apricot Lane also focuses on affordable price points, with items in the $25, $50 and $100 range.
“We’re pleased to add Apricot Lane to our assortment of unique offerings at Downtown Disney,” said Keith Bradford, vice president of Downtown Disney. “This boutique is another example of our commitment to bring new and compelling experiences to life at Downtown Disney, and I’m confident that it will soon become a guest favorite.”
This is the second Apricot Lane to open at a Disney resort. In June, a store opened in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort.
Apricot Lane Boutique is part of the popular Country Visions, Inc. franchise, and specializes in unique, one-of-a-kind items and brand names known for their quality and fashionable style trends. The specialty store has won a “Hot Concept” award from the International Council of Shopping Centers and has appeared in Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Franchise List. The company doubled in size in 2010.
