However, today we can reveal an inside look into the marvellous Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel! The original hotel, Disney’s Hotel New York closed in 2019 to make way for the first-ever Marvel-themed hotel. The project required over two years of construction with the help of many teams at Disneyland Paris to create an unforgettable, magical, experience. The construction was a real challenge as the hotel required a complete redesign into a more contemporary style based around a modern New York art gallery. This scene is set instantly from entering the hotel, featuring bold architectural lines to represent iconic skyscrapers.
Marvel art is central in the hotel’s transformation and this hotel boasts over 300 works on display, created by more than 95 artists capturing the richness of the Marvel universe! Did you know that around 50 were specially created for the hotel! Guests immediately experience the incredible artwork as they discover the huge backlit comic strip when they enter the lobby! That’s not all-you can also see three life-size armours of Iron Man and the famous shield of Captain America!
The Manhattan Restaurant featuring a luminous sculpture in the form of a chandelier seems like it’s from Asgard itself! This breathtaking sculpture measures 4m in diameter, weighs 1100kg and is made up of 255 elements! The Downtown Restaurant in comparison takes its inspiration from New York City delis, definitely feeling my spidersenses here! Here, over 90 sketches by marvel designers are displayed, making this the place with the most pieces of artwork per square meter in the hotel!
Next up it’s the Skyline Bar, with the power to transport guests to a bar at the top of a New York City skyscraper! The Skyline Bar has been “reconstructed in 3D” made possibly using “a virtual reality system made possible by our Imagineer colleagues in Glendale” said Thomas Muller. By projecting shots onto a screen to create an atmosphere without making people dizzy.
Finally finishing with the transformation of the swimming pool known as the Metro Pool. Based around the subway, the floor styled around subway platforms, with white tiles on the walls and even with the names of some stations that Super Heroes may have used! Through this exclusive tour of Disney’s Hotel of New York- The Art of Marvel, discover the transformations in what will be the very first Disney hotel dedicated to the Marvel universe!

A Disney lover from across the pond (England). If I'm not in the parks, I'm dreaming of my next trip. My favourite Disney character is Simba and my favourite Disney ride would have to be Space Mountain!
