Many Disney fans have been sharing photos online on how low the crowds are right now at Walt Disney World. When we were at Disney World 2 weeks ago we noticed that almost all of the parks in the public areas were pretty empty. However, with the new social distancing and cleaning measures taking place on the Rides & Attractions there was still a bit of a wait to get on your favorite Disney World ride.
Twitter user @bioreconstruct took to the skies to show us just how low the crowds were at Walt Disney World.
Let take a look at some of their photos:

It might seem like the camera is right in front of the park. It is actually South of the Polynesian, and 3000 feet up. pic.twitter.com/pH6qsPthcb

Here is a look at the Magic Kingdom, usually this time of year the park would be arm to arm walking down Main Street USA.
Here is a look at the Princess Cavalcade yesterday, notice how there are not many people watching this parade…

Looking at Epcot while the Taste of Epcot Food & Wine Festival is going on you would see lines of people walking around the World Showcase, not so this past weekend…

Almost nobody walking to Test Track!

When we were at Disney World, Hollywood Studios had the biggest crowds and longest wait times.

Wait times for Mickey & Minnie Runaway Railway were WELL over 60 minutes both days we were there.
Luckily our writer Kevin was able to get us a video of this new ride at Hollywood Studios since we were unable to ride it.
Lines in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge were just as long, the first day we were able to get in the queue for Rise of the Resistance but the 2nd day we missed out.

I was fortunate enough to be on Rise of the Resistance on opening day to grab this video though!
While no aerial photos of the Animal Kingdom, here is a photo of the Pandora area from when we were there earlier this month. We were able to ride Flight of Passage 3 times in a row with maybe a 5-minute wait.

Finally, even the crowds at Disney Springs have been pretty light. Take a look…
So the crowds at Disney World were pretty light the week we were there as you can see from the photos, meanwhile the crowds at Universal Studios were very heavy. Most wait times at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure were 20-45 minutes with some of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter rides well over 60 minutes.
Overall the crowds for the summer season are way down but for me with the heat and having to wear a mask all of the time it was a little rough.
So do you think now is a good time to go to Disney World? Keep in mind that the Disney World park hours will be shorter coming this September!
Our writer Kristin shared this post on our sister site Disney Addicts that would be worth a read… Op Ed: Is it worth it to go to Walt Disney World during COVID-19?
