The Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom have been drained and construction work continues on the river bed.
Along with the river being drained, the Liberty Belle Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island have been closed for refurbishment.
The Twitter account @bioreconstruct offers some recent aerial photos of both the Riverboat and Rivers of America.

The 47-foot tall Liberty Belle features four decks for guests. These include the Pilothouse, which is the uppermost deck where the wheelhouse and Captain’s Quarters are located. The third deck is the Promenade Deck where there is a collection of vintage photographs and maps on display for guests to view. The Texas Deck, also known as the Sun Deck, is the second deck and open to the Florida sunshine. The bottom deck is the Main Deck and includes the boiler and pistons that run the paddle wheel. There is seating located on all four decks.
We recently visited Magic Kingdom to take a look at the construction’s progress.
The crew working on the river bed was seen smoothing new dirt over the areas next to the boat track.
It also looks like there is work being done on the Liberty Belle track itself. New concrete posts and track pieces could be seen.
