New Aerial Photos Reveal Major Progress on Tropical Americas Carousel and More at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
The transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. into the vibrant new Tropical Americas land is picking up serious steam, and thanks to the latest aerial photos from @bioreconstruct on X, we now have one of the clearest looks yet at how things are coming together behind the scenes. From high above Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the scope of this reimagining is unmistakable, with construction crews actively reshaping the landscape into what will soon become Pueblo Esperanza, a lush village inspired by the cultures of Central and South America.

One of the most exciting developments in this latest update is the progress on the new carousel, which is quickly emerging as a visual centerpiece for the land. Steel beams now form a full perimeter canopy frame around the circular ride foundation, giving us a strong sense of the attraction’s final size and layout. The central hub of the carousel is already in place, and with vertical supports and overhead structure now installed, it is only a matter of time before this begins to resemble the charming, animal-filled attraction teased in concept art. Surrounding the carousel, additional concrete work and structural elements hint at nearby pathways and queue areas beginning to take shape.

Beyond the carousel, the rest of Tropical Americas is a flurry of activity. The Encanto attraction continues to dominate the skyline, with its massive show building nearing structural completion as exterior walls begin to enclose the space. Over at the future Indiana Jones attraction, the former DINOSAUR building is undergoing a steady transformation, with groundwork and site changes signaling the shift from prehistoric institute to ancient temple. Meanwhile, construction crews are busy carving out new walkways, installing utilities, and reconfiguring the terrain across the entire land, making DinoLand U.S.A. increasingly unrecognizable with each passing update.

From these aerial perspectives, it is easy to see that Tropical Americas is no small refresh, it is a full-scale reinvention of this corner of Animal Kingdom. As steel rises, concrete sets, and the footprint of Pueblo Esperanza becomes more defined, the land is steadily moving from blueprints to reality. If this pace continues, guests may not have to wait too long before trading in dinosaurs for a brand new adventure rooted in culture, storytelling, and a little Disney magic.
