Aerial Look at the Rising Monstropolis Land Construction
New aerial photographs from @bioreconstruct showcase dramatic progress at the highly anticipated Monstropolis land construction site at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Captured last weekend, the bird’s-eye views reveal that the steel building framework of the new coaster is officially rising above the foundation, multiple track support columns have been securely anchored into place, and the very first pieces of coaster track have finally arrived on-site.

The most notable advancement in the recent images is the structural steel framework now rapidly taking shape across a vast portion of the site. Workers have begun assembling massive steel columns and crossbeams that already tower several stories above the foundation slab, offering a clear first look at the massive scale and overall footprint of the building destined to fully enclose the suspended coaster.

Additionally visible in the aerial photographs are the initial pieces of coaster track, which have now arrived on-site. These curved steel track segments can be seen resting on the ground within the construction zone, awaiting installation for the upcoming major milestone: lifting and securing the track onto the newly erected support columns.

The fully enclosed show building is set to house Disney’s very first suspended coaster, which will send guests gliding through the iconic Monsters, Inc. door vault scene in ride vehicles launched by an innovative vertical lift system. Disney has not yet announced an official opening date for the new Monstropolis land.
