Adults Can Now Wear Costumes In The Magic Kingdom For Halloween

It’s officially the start of the Halloween season at Walt Disney World! Unlike in past years, adults can now wear Halloween costumes in The Magic Kingdom. This brings a new element of fun and immersion for guests of all ages.

Anyone above the age of 14 was previously not allowed to wear costumes. However, with the cancellation of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party along with other changes Disney has made for the season, this rule has been changed.

As stated by the Disney Parks Blog “guests of all ages can wear your funniest, Disney-ist, most creative costumes during Magic Kingdom Park regular operating hours from Sept. 15 to Oct. 31” Do keep in mind costume masks are still only for those under 14 years of age with this new rule.

With that said, let us take a look at some of the fun costumes that have been spotted in The Magic Kingdom so far!

Instagrammer @ethanatwdw sported a fun comfy look with this ghost onesie. This would be an excellent way to stay comfortable throughout the day! It would make it easy to walk from ride to ride. Or if you are like me, food item to food item. We don’t judge here.

Instagrammers @jrheaney_, @talk2thepalm, and @afrolectric came together to create an amazing group costume. Lock, Shock, and Barrel have never looked so good! We learned from the group they even added touches to their masks to give them an extra spooky effect similar to the movie itself.

Instagrammer @jeremythetea donned the park in this fantastic Fairy Godmother look. The way he described his costume was a very whimsical homage to the Fairy Godmother we all wanted at one point or another. Jeremy let us know this costume was created the night before. That is what I call creativity on the fly!

Instagrammer @lilyascanbe let it go in an Elsa look. We love how great this costume looks against the castle. Especially since photos like these used to be hard to get at night.

As you can see, the limits are truly endless. There are countless costume choices to wear at The Magic Kingdom. We know 2020 has looked quite different, yet we are loving this perk that has come from it. We can’t wait to see what other ways adults wear Halloween costumes at The Magic Kingdom this year!
