Terralina Crafted Italian in Disney Springs once again graciously invited us to a fabulous wine dinner. We were able to attend a previous one which you can read about here. However, this night was to be a little more special. This menu was created not only by their head chef Justin Plank but also with James Beard Award-winning chef Tony Mantuano! We knew we were in for a treat with this special Taste of Tuscany menu at Terralina Crafted Italian
The power of both of these chefs really shined through on the menu they created. One quick glance at it and we knew we were in for a fantastic meal!
Each course came with a beautiful wine pairing that really amped up the Tuscan vibes of this menu.
First Course
To start was a beautiful antipasti tower full of delicious meats, cheeses, and pickled veggies. Served with the antipasti tower was a warm chicken liver pate. We really enjoyed the variety of flavors for this first course. The white wine pairing with this was refreshing which played off some of the spicy and pickled flavors from the antipasti tower.
Second Course
Our second course was the pici pasta. This was no surprise, after all, it was an Italian dinner! It was quite a surprise to learn this pasta took five hours to make. No wonder why it tasted absolutely delicious and full of homemade love. This dish itself was simple with olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, and artichoke hearts. Once again the wine paired with this was a perfect match. It was mellow which rounded out with the smooth flavors of the olive oil in the pasta.
Third Course
The third course consisted of a beautiful porterhouse steak. This course created some excitement because the man of the hour himself Tony Mantuano carved this steak tableside!
We loved that Tony Mantuano was directly involved with this part of the meal. The steak itself was incredible. Seasoned with salt, pepper, and fennel, it was simple but perfectly executed. The steal came with a few sides which really rounded out the course nicely. Once again the wine did pair with the steak well. However, by itself, this wine did have some bite! Personally, it’s a preference we enjoy with a wine pairing for steak.
Fourth Course
Finally last but not least it was time for dessert! Placed before us was a warm olive oil cake. It was paired with berries as well as a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was the perfect way to end the meal. The wine served with this was a dessert wine. Super sweet to match the sweetness of the cake.
Ending The Night
We were in for a surprise realizing dessert was not the official end to our night. Each guest received a wine glass etched with the Terralina logo. In addition, everyone also received a signed olive oil bottle with Tony Mantuano’s signature. These gifts were perfect to remember such an incredible meal and experience.
Overall, we loved A Taste Of Tuscany at Terralina Crafted Italian. This really isn’t too much of a surprise based on our last wine dinner experience with them. Of course, having chef Tony Mantuano around was absolutely incredible. Terralina does continue to host special events like these at their restaurant. We would once again like to thank Terralina Crafted Italian for the invitation to this fabulous wine dinner. We were extremely grateful for the opportunity to dine with the amazing chef Tony Mantuano.
