The new Disney+ streaming service just keeps getting better and better! Now Disney has announced the addition of the Disney Original Show, Gargoyles, to the lineup starting in November.
The Disney Original Gargoyles show of the mid-1990s features voice actors like Keith David, Jonathan Frakes, and Sally Richardson. The Gargoyles is one of many shows from Disney’s old school afternoon block that will be available on Disney+. Also included in the old school afternoon block shows will include DuckTales, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, GoofTroop, and Adventures of the Gummi Bears.
The 25th anniversary of the series premiere will occur shortly after the launch of Disney+, which Keith David was quick to jump on the idea of a potential Gargoyles reboot if the chance ever came to fruition. “You know, those of us who were involved from the beginning… I’ve always wondered why they stopped it in the first place,” after show was canceled after three short seasons. “[We’ve wondered] why we haven’t come back to a reboot. I mean, I would love nothing more than to revisit Goliath. You know, he was absolutely one of my very, very, very, very favorite characters. I’ve always maintained that when I grow up, I want to be like Goliath.”
As of right now, it will be unclear if all three seasons will make their way to the Disney+ platform on the initial launch date of November 12th.
We don’t know about you, but either way, we are looking for the Old school afternoon block shows! What are you most looking forward to or are hoping to see on Disney+?
