Romantic Dinner Spots Outside The Disney World Theme Parks

Romantic Dinner Spots Outside The Disney World Theme Parks

Last week I talked about romantic dinner spots at the WDW Theme Parks, and there really are some great places to grab an intimate dinner for 2 at the Parks. If you’re willing to venture outside of the 4 Theme Parks, there are MANY more delicious dinner choices available to you for a Disney date night. So, hire a babysitter for the kids, and try out one of these amazing restaurants:

Head over to the Grand Floridian Resort where you will find some delicious options, including Citricos which features an upscale take on American classics like steak and pastas, and Narcoossee’s – with it’s amazing views of the Magic Kingdom and mouth-watering seafood specialties, it’s the perfect place for a date night! If you’re really looking to celebrate, you can head over to the luxurious Victoria and Albert’s, where you are treated like royalty to a delicious 6 course meal (with optional wine pairings available!)

Animal Kingdom Lodge is another place where you will find multiple restaurant options that would be perfect for a date night, including Jiko where you can check out the show kitchen and watch the chefs prepare your African inspired dishes as you sip on delicious award-winning wines, or you can head over to Sanaa, where you will be stunned by the view of the savanna as you feast on African and Indian inspired dishes.

The Contemporary Resort is home to the very popular California Grill restaurant, which is located at the top of the Resort, and one of the main reasons to dine here are the amazing views of the Magic Kingdom as seen from the restaurant and their observation decks – that and the food of course! Enjoy a large wine and spirit selection as well as sushi, flatbread pizzas, seafood and steak, and some truly decadent desserts.

The Boardwalk Resort is where you’ll find the Flying Fish Café, a restaurant which specializes in seafood dishes and offers an onstage kitchen where you can watch your meals being prepared. After dinner, what could be more romantic than a stroll down the boardwalk at night – it’s all lit up and is reminiscent of the Atlantic city boardwalk of the earlier 20th century.

Downtown Disney is a great place to spend a romantic evening, you can stroll around and shop, and then have a delicious meal at one of their amazing restaurants. Like Portobello – where you can sample Italian cuisine prepared in an elegant yet casual setting, or Fulton’s Crab House which is set in an authentic replica of a riverboat and offers a changing menu featuring fresh seafood that’s flown in daily. If you are looking for a slightly more lively atmosphere, then check out the Wolfgang Puck Café where the menu is full of interesting and unique pizzas, pastas, and desserts.

The WDW Resorts and Downtown Disney have a lot of restaurant options to offer, and many of them are extremely popular so I definitely recommend you make those Advance Dining Reservations as soon as you can!

  1. Another overlooked romantic restaurant is Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge; the view is fantasic, and the food is some of the best on property. We’ve also had good experiences at Narcoossee’s, Citricos, Jiko, and Sanaa. With California Grill, we had a great experience a few years ago, but our most recent trip was rather ruined by two of the loudest girls I’ve ever heard sitting next to us.

  2. We cant use our park pass to go for dinner without the kids so we will be going to a resort during our next trip to have a couples only dinner.

  3. best disney date ive ever had: dinner at kouzzina at the Broadwalk and then walking around the lake while the fireworks were going off from epcot. then we sat on a swing and watched a movie they were playing on a big screen outside. simple and sweet, I loved it 🙂
