Busy times ahead for Walt Disney World this Easter season

Busy times ahead for Walt Disney World this Easter season

This morning showed guests visiting Walt Disney World how busy it is going to be at the theme parks this Easter season. As early as 11: 30 a.m. today the Magic Kingdom Park has closed its gates to some guests due to capacity. It was not until just before 2 p.m. when the gates were reopened to all guests wishing to enter.

The capacity closure of Magic Kingdom this morning is just the beginning of multiple closings like this at Walt Disney World. The Magic Kingdom and Epcot are generally the first to close during busy times of the year. So if you are planning on visiting one of these two parks, go early and plan to spend the day, because if you leave and they close the gates you will not be permitted back in until the gates are reopened.

  1. We ran into this last year and boy was it crowded! In 2009, they increased the operating hours so what we did was go for rope drop, go back to the hotel and take a nap, then return to the park for our dinner ADR and stay there until 1 or 2 am – no crowds then. It worked for us.
