Disney has made an interesting change to its official Walt Disney World website, removing the previously announced 2027 opening year for Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The updated “Coming to the Parks” page still highlights the massive new 11-acre land and its attractions, but there is now no mention of when guests can expect Pueblo Esperanza to officially welcome its first explorers.

The revised description now puts the spotlight on the attractions themselves, including Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, and El Carrusel de los Animalitos. The handcrafted carousel will feature wooden animal figures inspired by Disney and Pixar films. The update reflects several of the attraction names and details Disney revealed during D23 in August, making the disappearance of the opening year particularly noticeable.
Before the change, Disney’s website specifically told guests to prepare for an immersive 11-acre land arriving in 2027. That year has now vanished from the current page. However, Disney has not announced that Tropical Americas has been delayed. In fact, an April 2026 Disney Parks Blog article still states that the land will open in 2027, and other previously published Disney material continues to reference that timeframe. For now, this is a change in how Disney is presenting the project on one of its primary forward-looking planning pages, rather than confirmation of a new opening date.

The updated dates could also be hinting at a phased opening like we saw with Galaxy’s Edge, with the Indiana Jones ride opening first, and the Enancto section opening later. Construction continues to move forward across the former DinoLand U.S.A. area, with work underway on both the Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions along with the surrounding village. Whether Disney simply dropped the year while refreshing the webpage or is beginning to give itself a little more breathing room remains to be seen. We will be watching for any official update to the Tropical Americas timeline.
